We Are Lee Medical

Our Story
Founded in 1987, Lee Medical has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality medical products directly to hospitals and physicians. In 2013, Lee Medical and Bone Shark LLC joined forces under new ownership to form a single, united company — and a renewed commitment to innovation and service.
Today, Lee Medical is a private, woman-owned, and family-operated small business based in Skillman, New Jersey. We take pride in offering FDA-registered Class I devices that are designed, manufactured, and sourced entirely in the United States.
Our products are sold directly to hospitals, physicians, and distributors who value quality, reliability, and hands-on service from a responsive team that understands the needs of modern healthcare.
Let’s connect — we’re here to help.
Our Products
At Lee Medical, we’re proud to offer two trusted product lines that reflect our commitment to quality, innovation, and clinical performance.

The LEE-LOK® line remains one of the most respected names in disposable bone marrow needles — trusted by healthcare professionals for bone marrow harvest, aspiration, and biopsy procedures. With decades of proven reliability, LEE-LOK® continues to set the standard in its field.
Bone Shark® Bone Mill
Originally developed by Medical Innovators and now fully integrated into the Lee Medical portfolio, Bone Shark® has been reimagined for today’s surgical environment. Our Founders
Sandra Tarca
President & CEO
Sandy brings a unique blend of compassion, leadership, and business acumen to Lee Medical. She began her professional career in Special Education after earning her undergraduate degree from Saint Joseph’s College in West Hartford, CT. While raising her family, she continued teaching part-time and pursued her interest in Behavior Modification, earning a Master’s degree from Southern Connecticut State University.
Sandy’s career pivoted into the corporate sector with roles at GE and Xerox, where she gained valuable experience in customer service, procurement, and billing functions. These positions provided a strong foundation in business operations and client relations—skills that have proven essential in the highly regulated and customer-driven medical device industry. In addition to her professional work, Sandy has held numerous leadership roles in various community and nonprofit organizations, further strengthening her expertise in strategic planning, team coordination and stakeholder engagement.
As President and CEO of Lee Medical, Sandy oversees all day-to-day operations. She brings a strong customer-focused mindset and serves as the company’s primary voice and strategic guide.
Thomas Tarca
Chief Operating Officer
Tom Tarca is a seasoned executive with deep experience in medical device innovation, marketing and operations. He holds a degree in Biology from Trinity College (Hartford, CT) and began his career at Andersen Consulting, where he focused on optimizing material requirements planning and inventory systems for large defense manufacturers.
Tom later earned his MBA from Harvard Business School and went on to lead in various roles at prominent healthcare companies, including Davis & Geck, Johnson & Johnson, and Integra LifeSciences. His product experience spans surgical sutures, orthopedic implants, and regenerative skin and nerves — giving him a broad understanding of the medical device landscape.
At Lee Medical, Tom oversees operations, product strategy, sales and marketing, bringing decades of industry insight and a passion for advancing innovative and practical solutions in healthcare.

Acquiring Lee Medical
From his time at Harvard Business School, Tom Tarca always had a vision of one day owning and growing a family-run business. That opportunity became a reality when the Tarca family acquired the assets that would become the new Lee Medical.
With Sandy leading the company’s operations and strategy, the transition was seamless — allowing Tom to continue his corporate career while the foundation for Lee Medical was being built. Now “retired” from his previous roles, Tom works alongside Sandy, and together they bring complementary skills to drive the company forward.
As a family-owned business, Lee Medical is proud to include the next generation in its ownership. Tom and Sandy’s four children are co-owners of the company. While they are each focused on their own growing careers and families, they continue to support Lee Medical as advisors and champions of its future.
